Midland Man Indicted for Breaking Woman's Eye Socket

SAN ANGELO— A Midland man has been indicted after beating and head butting a woman.

Timothy Bentley, 40, has been indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury after he headbutted and beat a woman.

According to court documents, on June 17, 2023, Tom Green County Sheriff Deputies responded to a residence on the 200 block of Loch Ness Road in Highland Range just outside of San Angelo regarding an aggravated assault.

Bentley and the victim had a verbal argument and the victim told Bentley to leave the residence. He began packing a bag to leave but became angry with the victim. Then, Bentley got in the victim’s face and head butted her, cracking her orbital socket. He then threw the victim on the bed and began striking her in the face with a closed fist while on top of her.

The victim was able to push Bentley off of her and fell of the bed. Bentley then struck the victim in the eye with a closed fist. The victim was able to yell to another individual in the house to call the sheriff.

Bentley left the scene in a vehicle and was not located.

The victim provided medical discharge paperwork that indicated that she sustained an acute fracture of her left orbital floor.

Bentley was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail the next day on June 18, 2023, and was released on June 20, 2023, on $100,000 bond. Aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury is a second-degree felony and carries a possible punishment of two to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. Bentley will be in court on October 3, 2023, for an initial pre-trial.
